Meet the Inventor
The Hottie Hot Comb was invented by Kimla Murrell, a visionary entrepreneur whose earliest inspiration came from her firsthand childhood experiences.
For special occasions, Kimla's mother would carefully straighten her hair using a traditional hot comb. While her mom had a steady hand and the best intentions, the process was often frightening. Despite the care taken, burns happened - unintentionally, but repeatedly. Each styling session came with anxiety, discomfort, and the fear of getting burned yet again.
Those early experiences left a lasting impression. They revealed a reality many families accepted as normal; that pain and risk were simply part of the straightening process.
At the age of 10, in the middle of that fear and discomfort, Kimla had a vision of a safer hot comb that could style hair without pain or danger. What began as a childhood idea, stayed with her quietly taking shape over time.
